Software Environment

The Lone Traveller is to be developed in Python 3 with extensions including: Tkinter and Pygame. The program will be tested and developed on both Windows and Mac computers. The program should run fine on older systems but due to the hardware and software available, testing on older systems is limited and it will be up to the user to determine whether their computer is suitable for the program. I have chosen Python 3 because it’s the coding language I am most familiar with and I know that it has all the features required to develop The Lone Traveller and also allowing the program to run reliably on multiple platforms. These features include the use of audio and image files, GUI capabilities, arrays, low system impact performance and support not only from python themselves but the community and my teacher as they are familiar with the language.
